#introduction [FR]

#introduction [EN]

I'm a geek living in Belgium. I write some sci-fi and fantasy stories, I have a blog and I develop some tools for literature. I adapt some works into audio. I'm legally blind and I try to create accessibility with 3D printing and others. In my spare time, I play go game, sport (kickboxing), RPG and video games. I listen books and audio-descripted movies and series. You'll find all of that here, in English and in French. I'm learning Dutch and Japanese too.

So proud to learn the speech of Helen Keller in 1925 for an audition. This is an historic piece for all blind people. Helen Keller did so much for us !

"Fables et Légendes japonaises" is a really good book. Its title can be translated as "Japanese fables and legends" but I didn't find it in English. It contains ten short versions of traditional fables from Japan. It can be read by a lot with a really fluent writing. If you read french, I recommend !

I've started my dramaturgical arts lessons, and I need to choose a fable in french. But I have no idea for now…

Some decisions have been taken. I'll continue to write and maintain my blog, but limiting to 3 hours a week for next year. Priority is on the accessible writing and management software, this is the long-term fix for legal issues. While I don't have all requirements, I'll be supervised by an enabled person (credited as co-author). If it's not sufficient for copyright collectives, I'll remove my name on my works. So, as legal is resolved, I come back here :)

Current issue I want to solve in my next project: I want to be a DM for some next sessions. But, with low vision, it's a bit tricky. So, I'm thinking of braille and 3D printed materials to make it possible.

Last day of rest. Tomorrow, I resume my volunteering projects.

I don't have resin 3D printer, and I'm thinking to fix it during next months. A filament-based printer can't have enough precision for braille and other adaptations. But, I'm a bit afraid about toxicity and all the stuff to do (cleaning and more) with low vision.

And back to projects. Today, I try to prepare a file for voice acting (an adaptation for blind people).

Bad idea of the day: 3D printing near my computer. I can't use my fan, the printer heats during an heating wave. I'm melting…

I'm late on all my projects. I'm back here after few weeks. Burn-out has come… I hope resume some activities before the end of the month, but I'm not sure.

Today, I show the final of Belgian MT180 (my thesis in 180 seconds). That was really interesting with very good participants. And really happy to see a lot of people during an event about science!

I love how most people provide alt text for their images. This is amazing and so helpful. Thank you everyone and keep using alt text!!!

Happy towel day! And thanks for all the fish!

[EN] And now, not the final result because I need to a 19x19 one and note a 2x2 one. I can't wait to play go game with it! If you want all files (sorry I have to comment the code): procrastinator.nerv-project.eu

This means that if you make a script that does something that only you personally will get anything out of, that's fine, make it as inaccessible as you like, only you will deal with any consequences that arise from that. But if you make something you're going to release to the public, and you don't know a thing about accessibility, don't you dare expect users to do to the work of learning your codebase, and making your thing accessible.

If you release a program for use by other people, accessibility is your responsibility.
If you create a website for other people to use, accessibility is your responsibility.
If you make a platform for people to come together and meet on, accessibility is your responsibility.
If you make a framework for other developers to build things on top of, accessibility is your responsibility.
